Planning Your Stay
The Fishing Shack is a quiet riverfront home in southwest Montana. A little planning before you arrive will help you make the most of your time here.
Location & groceries
The cabin is at 9 Sturdy Lane, Cameron, Montana. Ennis is approximately a 30-minute drive north, and West Yellowstone is approximately a 35-minute drive away. These are approximate times; check your route and allow extra time for conditions. The towns have most of the area's groceries, restaurants, and gas stations, so we recommend shopping before arriving.
Airports & driving
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours away by car; Yellowstone Airport near West Yellowstone is closer but has more limited service. Travel times vary with weather, road conditions, and traffic. Check your route before setting out.
Montana weather
Weather can change quickly, even in July and August. Bring layers, a warm sweater, and a light jacket, along with a bathing suit for the hot tub or nearby hot springs.
What the home provides
The house has a well-equipped kitchen, coffee makers, basic cooking provisions, linens, shower toiletries, Wi-Fi, washer and dryer, and forced-air heating. There is no air conditioning. Cellular service varies by carrier. Please confirm any specific accessibility or amenity questions with us before booking.
Fishing equipment & licenses
Fishing rods and tackle are not supplied at the property. Check current Montana fishing-license requirements, regulations, and conditions before fishing. Local fly shops and guides can provide up-to-date advice.
River, deck & fire safety
The river can be deceptively strong; children must never be unattended near the water. The deck may be slippery when wet or icy and has no railings. Use the fire pit only when conditions and local restrictions permit, never leave a fire unattended, and fully extinguish it before leaving.
Check-in & check-out
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM. Detailed access instructions are sent privately to confirmed guests before arrival. Please do not arrive early without prior approval.
Water & waste
The property uses a well and a shared septic system, so please conserve water and avoid putting anything other than liquids down the sinks. Keep trash contained, particularly because the area is home to bears and other wildlife.
Send us your dates, group size, and any questions about the home. We’ll confirm availability and pricing before a reservation is finalized.
